A handsome, young Kumi Sugaï in his atelier on the rue de la Tombe-Issoire in Paris in 1957. Just a couple of years after arriving from Japan. Next to all the work in edition that he made, Sugaï made quite some large paintings, most of those are in the collections of big museums or in the hands of private collectors. It’s my dream to own one of his paintings at some point, but for now I focus on my collection of silkscreens, etchings and lithographs. It’s such a joy to open the drawers every now and then and look at the works in my personal collection. Collecting has always been my main focus, selling always comes second and I only ever sell the pieces that are already in my own collection. I hope that I have inspired some of you with his amazing work, it really is something else. If ever you are interested to learn more, see some books or maybe see some pieces of my collection, don’t hesitate to reach out. Bisou, Julien
