The Hoxton Lloyd, Amsterdam
Intro
Permanent Art Collection, curated by Bisou Gallery
The Lloyd Hotel has long been part of the fabric of Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands, a quiet, creative area where Bisou Gallery is also based. When invited to curate the permanent art collection for the reimagined hotel, now operating as The Hoxton Lloyd, Amsterdam, it felt like a natural fit. The building is quite literally in view from the gallery’s windows, making this collaboration especially close to home.

From the start, it was clear the collection should reflect its surroundings. Together with the team, we shaped a locally rooted concept: showcasing artists who are either Dutch or based in the Netherlands, ideally Amsterdam, and even better, from the Amsterdam East neighbourhood. The result is a thoughtful selection that offers guests a glimpse into the creative spirit of the area.
For the collection of Hoxton's own Breman Brasserie, we expanded the scope slightly, including a few international artists whose work complements the atmosphere of the space.
